was born on Oct 16, 2008 from our (Joe
x Lily) litter and collapsed and died at 1pm Monday, May 5,
2014 at home.
She went out to go potty and never made it back in. It was sudden
and there was no struggle and no saving her. The two
probable causes discussed by the vet were either an aneurism or
sudden onset cardiac arrest whereas the heart just stops.
She had no signs of heart issues at all. She had passed her ofa
when she was younger and in the last 2 years she had had
4 pre op lab workups before being bred, c-sections, and spayed
as well as being on heart monitors 4 times during those
procedures. We do not understand how or why this happened. They
tell me "it happens" in giant breeds. I strive to find
longevity in the dogs I use for breeding and it is just wrong
that Her 11 yr old grandmother is still here and her 8.5 yr old
mother, but she is gone. Chatter was the epitome of good health.
She was fit and active. She never had a sick day in her life.
She was the
Energizer Bunny. She did everything in a huge way with total disregard
to the premise of being a couch potato.
Chatter was sweet and intelligent and
deserves to be remembered.
in all Rainy Days Mastiffs, Chatter had received her OFA clearances
